Donna Cusack has a long history with ballet which began before she was born. Her grandmother worked in the office at the iconic J.C. Williamson’s Theatre, and her mother took ballet lessons from renowned ballerina of her era, and artist of the Borovansky Ballet, Ms Edna Busse. Donna worked at The Australian Ballet between 2004 and 2016 where her various roles have included media relations, coordinating the education and public programs and philanthropy. She returned in 2018 as The Australian Ballet’s Archive and Records Manager. Throughout her time at The Australian Ballet Donna has received the Ian McCrae scholarship to spend time with the major ballet companies of NYC and returned to the USA in 2015 upon being awarded the Noel Pelly scholarship. Donna has led Renaissance Tours to China, Germany, London and Paris as well as a number of Australian ballet lovers’ tours.
