Rosamund Bartlett

Rosamund Bartlett completed her doctorate at Oxford, and is the author of biographies of Tolstoy and Chekhov, and translator of their works. She is also a musicologist who has published and contributed to books on Wagner, Verdi, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, and has written on art, music and literature for publications such as the Financial Times, Apollo and the programmes of the Royal Opera House. She currently divides her time between Oxford and Sydney, where she is an Honorary Associate in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Sydney, and a popular lecturer at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. She speaks several languages and has travelled extensively throughout Europe.
