Charlotte Smith is a curator, stylist, author and fashion event director. In 2001 Charlotte inherited a vast collection of vintage and historic garments and accessories from her American Quaker godmother. She quickly realised the bequest was more than just clothing: it was a recording of social history told through fashion.
The stories in Charlotte’s bestselling books, Dreaming of Dior, Dreaming of Chanel, and One Enchanted Evening, recount one hundred and fifty years of women’s lives and what they wore. As a globetrotting fashion anthropologist, Charlotte is fascinated by the study of people, their behaviour, and the intriguing history of the culture of fashion.
