Rosamund Bartlett is a biographer of Tolstoy and Chekhov, and also a musicologist who has published and contributed to books on Wagner, Verdi, Stravinsky and Shostakovich. She has written on art, music and literature for publications such as the Financial Times, Apollo and the programmes of the Royal Opera House, and has collaborated with institutions such as the National Theatrе, BBC Radio 3 and the Salzburg Festival. She currently divides her time between Oxford and Sydney, where she is an Honorary Associate in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Sydney. She speaks several languages and has travelled extensively throughout Europe.
