Indigenous Art in the National Capital
Explore Ceremony, the 2022 iteration of the National Indigenous Art Triennial at Canberra’s National Gallery of Australia, and discover other outstanding national collections of Indigenous art.
Curated by Hetti Perkins, Ceremony presents cutting-edge contemporary work by more than 35 emerging Indigenous artists from across the continent.
Visit also the National Museum of Australia to take in a new exhibition, Talking Blak to History, that focuses on the history and experiences of Australia’s first peoples. Appreciate the millennial history of Indigenous Australians at the Australian War Memorial, where works from Utopia and APY lands are among the significant artworks by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists in the permanent collection.
Encounter other excellent collections of Indigenous art, including a tour focused on First Nations history at Parliament House.
Hear from the artists and curators themselves, in conversation a leading expert on Indigenous art, Wally Caruana.

In the spirit of reconciliation, the Art Gallery Society of New South Wales and Renaissance Tours acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
This tour is part of the World Art Tours program organised by the Art Gallery Society of NSW in partnership with Renaissance Tours.
