The Ring at the Met

Spring blossoms in New York with the revival of Robert Lepage’s acclaimed 2013 production of the Ring at the Metropolitan Opera.

Renaissance Tours has secured a very limited guaranteed allocation of Orchestra Premium seats for Cycle II, with exclusive ‘Ring Leader’ status for our tour members, including a gala dinner, special backstage and rehearsal access, and invitation-only panel discussions.

In a production hailed as innovative, powerful and visually stunning, Canadian actor-writer-director Robert Lepage presents a forceful 21st century staging of the Ring, faithful to Wagner’s original vision while employing modern visual technology.

Under the baton of Philippe Jordan, Christine Goerke makes her debut as Brünnhilde at the Met, versatile German baritone Michael Volle sings Wotan, Australia’s Stuart Skelton sings Siegmund, and Austrian Heldentenor Andreas Schager is the heroic Siegfried. Audiences in 2019 will benefit from refinements in Lepage’s ideas and stage design since the production’s original staging.

In between instalments of the Ring, take the opportunity to refresh your musical palette with optional performances of the Met’s Rigoletto and Dialogues des Carmélites.
