Attend Benjamin Britten’s opera The Turn of the Screw performed by New Zealand Opera and be amazed by the World of WearableArt, a theatrical extravaganza of fashion and art.
Explore Wellington’s rich collection of museums and galleries including the City Art Gallery and Te Papa Museum, dedicated to art and Māori culture.
Spend a leisurely day in the Martinborough wine district, famous for its Pinot Noir, and enjoy some of New Zealand’s finest wine and cuisine.

At 18:00 join Claudia and fellow travellers for a welcome briefing followed by a special welcome dinner.
Following a morning talk, enjoy a walking tour focusing on Wellington’s 1930s Art Deco buildings. Then, visit Egmont Street, a hidden gem in one of the city’s vibrant laneways.
After lunch, enjoy a tour of New Zealand’s iconic Parliament House, with a special focus on the superb Parliamentary Collection, which includes works by significant New Zealand artists such as Colin McCahon, Frances Hodgkins, Ralph Hotere, Melvin Day, Cliff Whiting, Susan Skerman, Para Matchitt and John Drawbridge.
Tonight, attend a performance by New Zealand Opera of Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, based on Henry James’s novella. Conducted by Holly Mathieson, the cast features the New Zealand soprano Anna Leese as the Governess and compatriot baritone Jared Holt as Peter Quint.
This morning, visit the City Art Gallery. The gallery presents world-class exhibitions of contemporary New Zealand and international art, focussing on visual art, architecture and design. Continue to the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, a fascinating centre dedicated to art, history and Māori culture.
Enjoy some time at leisure in the afternoon before attending the World of WearableArt Show at the nearby TSB Bank Arena at Queen’s Wharf. One of New Zealand’s cultural success stories over the past 30 years, WOW is an international design competition that attracts entries from over 40 countries each year. The show presents original and innovative creations in a spectacular show at the intersection of fashion and art.
Today, travel to the Dowse Art Museum located outside Wellington. The contemporary art museum houses one of New Zealand’s largest and most significant public art collections numbering over 2,000 items and presents local, national and international artists.
Continue to the famous Martinborough wine district and celebrate the conclusion of the tour with a special farewell lunch with Claudia and fellow travellers before returning to Wellington in the late afternoon.
In the evening, attend a private music concert performed by students of the renowned New Zealand School of Music.
