Then, enjoy an early dinner before walking to the Sydney Opera House to attend Verdi’s opera La Traviata in the Joan Sutherland Theatre. Directed by Sarah Giles and conducted by Paul Fitzsimon, this glittering production features a high-calibre Australian and international cast with soprano Samantha Clarke performing the title role as Violetta, tenor Ji-Min Park as Alfredo and baritone José Carbó as Giorgio.

This morning, gain a glimpse into the hidden corners of The Rocks on a guided walking tour. Learn about the controversial building projects of Millers Point, and explore how the nation’s economy was founded upon the wool and shipping industries of the 19th and early 20th centuries along the Walsh Bay wharves. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.
Tonight, be immersed in Leonard Bernstein’s operatic masterpiece Candide, directed by Australia’s award-winning Dean Bryant. Renowned conductor Brett Weymark leads a strong cast, with tenor Lyndon Watts taking on the title role, baritone Eddie Perfect as Pangloss, soprano Annie Aitken singing Cunegonde and mezzo-soprano Dominica Matthews as the Old Lady.

Following a pre-performance talk by Damien, travel back in time through a guided tour of the historic Vaucluse House, one of Sydney’s few 19th-century mansions that is still surrounded by its original gardens and grounds. Afterwards, enjoy some time at leisure in the gardens.
Return to the Sydney Opera House for a late-afternoon concert of all-time classic opera highlights. Listen to famous arias from Bizet, Puccini, Rossini, Verdi and more performed by some of Opera Australia’s finest singers.
After the performance, enjoy dinner on Circular Quay.

Begin today with a visit to the Art Gallery of New South Wales and take a private, guided tour of the ‘Sydney Modern’ building, opened in December 2022, with its spacious galleries, art garden, unique artworks and other features that combine architecture and art created by leading Australian and international artists.
After lunch at the gallery, enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.
This evening, attend Rossini’s renowned opera The Barber of Seville. Highly-acclaimed Australian baritone Samuel Dale Johnson returns home to make his Opera Australia debut as the titular barber. Audience favourite tenor Shanul Sharma takes on the role of Count Almaviva, while mezzo-soprano Helen Sherman plays Rosina.
