Trace the island’s roots from antiquity to the Baroque, ranging from the ornate architecture of Magna Graecia to the Byzantine splendour and Arab craftsmanship of its Norman cathedrals and palaces.  

Explore ancient ruins in Syracuse and Agrigento, two of the most powerful cities in the Hellenic world, and visit picturesque Taormina, nestled between the still-active volcano, Mount Etna, and the azure waters of the Ionian Sea. Wander through intricately decorated Norman churches in Palermo and Monreale, and marvel at Caravaggio’s stunning masterpieces.
