In Melbourne, visit the State Library of Victoria’s collection on an exclusive before-hours tour, and see the Loel Thomson Costume Collection in Shepparton, comprising more than 10,000 pieces of costume dating back to the 18th century.
At Geelong Art Gallery, marvel at the Discovering the Impressionists: Paul Durand-Ruel exhibition, for the first time outside Europe, bringing together more than 70 paintings including works by Monet, Renoir and Pissarro, alongside a second generation of artists championed under the visionary art dealer, Paul Durand-Ruel.
Visit the Mornington Peninsula, where art and landscape converge at the Pt Leo Sculpture Park, and travel to scenic Mount Macedon to visit the elegant Stokes Collection, featuring 18th-and 19th-century objects of art, furniture and porcelain.

This morning, walk to the State Library of Victoria for a private, before-hours guided tour, including exclusive behind‑the‑scenes access to collection areas and a private, guided tour of the library’s latest exhibition, Rebel Heart: Love letters and other declarations, celebrating true stories of the rebels of romance from the past to the present.
Afterwards, continue to Trinity College for a tour of its portrait gallery, one of the finest collegiate collections of portraiture in Australia, where works by established names in Australian art such as Arthur Boyd, John Olsen and W.B. McInnes are displayed.
After lunch, enjoy a guided walk along Collins Street with Kenneth, highlighting key artworks and interiors.

Today, drive to Shepparton to visit the Museum of Vehicle Evolution (MOVE) followed by a private, guided tour of the Loel Thomson Costume Collection. Collected over 40 years by Loel Thomson OAM, the collection holds more than 10,000 objects, including clothing, jewellery and accessories spanning 200 years of Australian fashion.
Later, visit the Shepparton Art Museum, established in 1936 and whose new building opened only in 2021. The museum holds over 4,000 artworks, including one of the largest ceramic art collections in Australia, as well as a significant collection of Indigenous Australian art.
Return to Melbourne in the late afternoon followed by an evening at leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to the town of Mount Macedon for a private, guided tour of the Stokes Collection. Representing the lifelong passion of collector Cyril Stokes, the collection features 18th- and 19th-century porcelain, marble and bronze statuary, Asian textiles, French furniture and paintings.
Enjoy lunch at one of the acclaimed wineries of the region before returning to the hotel in the mid-afternoon.
The remainder of the afternoon and evening is at leisure.

Begin the day with a visit to Pt Leo Sculpture Park, set on the stunning Mornington Peninsula. Featuring more than 70 sculptures by contemporary artists, it is Australia’s foremost outdoor gallery. Discover monumental installations and intricate pieces tucked away in the serene gardens.
After lunch, visit Cruden Farm, the idyllic gardens of the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch. Revel in the glorious colour of spring blooms admiring the large variety of styles and plantings scattered throughout.

Today, transfer to the Geelong Art Gallery to explore the Discovering the Impressionists: Paul Durand-Ruel major exhibition. Flowing across five galleries, the exhibition features more than 70 paintings spanning two generations of Impressionist artists never previously seen in Australia. Most of the paintings are from private collections in France, with works from Monet, Renoir and Pissarro alongside second generation artists such as Albert André, Georges d’Espagnat and Gustave Loiseau.
Tonight, celebrate the conclusion of the tour with a special farewell dinner with Kenneth and fellow travellers at one of Melbourne’s fine restaurants.
