After breakfast, travel north to Curringa Farm in the town of Hamilton, once a bustling frontier settlement.

The farm, owned by sixth generation farmers, is set on a 750-acre property with approximately 3,000 sheep and a preserved area designated to conservation, allowing for native birds, animals and plants to thrive.

After lunch, continue to Prospect Villa and Garden for a private, guided tour of the Italian-influenced garden around the early colonial Georgian homestead.

Return to Hobart in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Begin the day with a visit to Salamanca Markets, Tasmania’s famous marketplace located at historic Salamanca Place. The markets have been operating for over 50 years, showcasing locally-made products.

In the afternoon, visit Crawleighwood Garden, nestled in the valley at Nicholls Rivulet. Owners Pav and Penny have worked on the garden for 30 years, transforming their passion project into a four-acre garden featuring Gondwana rainforest species, rhododendrons and many rare and unusual plants.

Return to Hobart in the late afternoon for an evening at leisure.

(BL)

Today, travel to Port Arthur on the Tasman Peninsula, a place of complex history, heritage and compelling stories of its notorious penal colony past.

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site that started out as a small timber station in 1830 and where shipbuilding by convict labourers became a growth industry for the colony. Hear about the history and characters who lived, worked and served time in this haunting location.

Enjoy a cruise on Carnarvon Bay before continuing to Port Arthur Lavender Farm, situated a short drive away on the waterfront at Long Bay, for lunch and to admire the colourful lavender fields before returning to Hobart in the late afternoon.

The evening is at leisure.
