This morning, visit Strawhouse Wines for a private tasting of the wines produced on the northern slopes of Mount Canobolas while learning about the Orange region. The boutique, family-owned winery produces red and white wines on the small, dry-grown vineyard which was planted by the owners, Justin and Meg, in 1997.

Afterwards, enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at Printhie Wines, owned by Jim and Ruth Swift along with their sons Ed and Dave. The winery produces the award-winning SWIFT branded premium sparkling wine range, which is considered among one of Australia’s best.

Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Today, drive to Colmar Estate, one of the highest located vineyards in Australia. The owner, Bill, was inspired by his travels to France to create his own vineyard in Orange where the cool, continental climate is similar to France’s famous wine regions.

Continue to Rowlee Wines, situated in the rural hamlet of Nashdale, for a wine tasting and lunch. Beginning as a passion project of owners Nicola and James, after 20 years it is now an award-winning winery. The grapes are sustainably grown through the use of drip irrigation to reduce water consumption.

Return to the hotel in the afternoon for some free time. Tonight, enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant.

(BLD)

This morning, enjoy a wine tasting at Swinging Bridge Wines, a distinguished family winery. Located on Mount Canobolas’ southern slopes, the winery specialises in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Continue to Byrne Farm, on the northern slopes of Mount Canobolas. Enjoy a wine tasting by owner Jeffrey, who currently sits as the Chair of the NSW Small Winemakers Show. The vineyard, planted only five years ago, has 1.5 hectares of Pinot Noir.

Afterwards, enjoy lunch at See Saw Wine, a family-owned business specialising in organic wines. The certified organic estate-grown fruit is cultivated across three high-altitude properties and showcase the influence of Orange’s elevation through minimal-intervention winemaking.

Return to the hotel for some time at leisure.

This evening, join Peter and fellow travellers for a farewell dinner at a nearby restaurant.
