In the late afternoon, enjoy a wine tasting at Brown Brothers, one of the founders of Australia’s First Families of Wine (AFFW). Home to over 50 different varietals, Brown Brothers has a small-scale innovation winery, ‘The Kindergarten’, which allows its winemaking team to create new styles of wine.

Then, join Peter and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner at the hotel restaurant, Merlot.

This morning, visit Pizzini Wines, a family-owned winery located in King Valley. Following morning tea at the cellar door, enjoy a cooking class led by Katrina Pizzini and learn the secrets to preparing traditional Italian dishes. Savour the prepared dishes with your choice of wine from the family’s reserve range. Then, enjoy a wine tasting and talk by the owner, Fred Pizzini.

In the afternoon, continue with a tasting at Dal Zotto Wines. Known for pioneering prosecco in Australia, experience the wine’s unique and delicate aromatics of jasmine, wisteria and citrus blossom, while savouring its crisp apple and citrus flavours on the palate.

Later, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Today, drive to Rutherglen, a historic wine region known for its fortified wines, and enjoy a private cellar door tasting at Campbells Wines. With 145 years of winemaking experience, Campbells captures the flavours of Rutherglen with its gutsy red wines, including Bobbie Burns Shiraz, and its world-renowned topaques and muscats.

Continue to All Saints Estate, winner of the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards for its fortified wines, for a tour, wine tasting and lunch at the winery’s restaurant. Later, enjoy a wine tasting at Morris Wines, a boutique winery specialising in fortified wines.

Return to the hotel in the afternoon and spend the remainder of the evening at leisure.

Today, enjoy a wine tasting of Australia’s finest chardonnay and shiraz wines at Castagna Vineyard. Dedicated to cultivating wines expressing the taste of the land, Castagna’s winemaking remains traditional: hand pruning the vineyard, hand picking the fruit and using the vineyard’s indigenous yeast to achieve its natural flavour.

In the afternoon, delight in a wine tasting at Fighting Gully Road Wines, known for its cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay. Then, visit Eldorado Road’s award-winning cellar door for a wine tasting of its bright and perfumed wines.

This evening, join Peter and fellow travellers for a farewell dinner at Provenance, an award-winning restaurant with two chef’s hats.
