Jonas Kaufmann is back! For the first time in three years, the world’s most sought-after tenor will be performing his first fully-staged opera in Australia, in the title role of Wagner’s Lohengrin.

A co-production with Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie and Opera Australia, director Olivier Py’s acclaimed production is set in the ruins of Berlin during the aftermath of World War II, featuring set designer Pierre-André Weitz’s monumental revolving tiered set.
Conducted by Opera Australia’s Tahu Matheson, and featuring a huge chorus, Kaufmann will be joined by a cast of powerhouse singers including Emily Magee, Elena Gabouri, Marco Vratogna, Daniel Sumegi and Warwick Fyfe.
