This morning, enjoy an orientation tour covering Norfolk Island’s key points of interest.

Visit St Barnabas Chapel built in 1880 with rich mother-of-pearl inlays, ship-like vaulted timber ceiling and stained-glass windows. Enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk trail at the Norfolk Island Botanic Gardens. Originally a private garden, planted with species endemic to the island, the grounds were incorporated into the Norfolk Island National Park in 1986 and contain a collection of the island’s unique flora, including fifteen critically endangered plant species.

After lunch, continue to the Bounty Folk Museum for an intriguing insight into the 1789 mutiny on the Bounty and its effect on Pitcairn Island and the history of Norfolk Island.

Then, enjoy some time at leisure followed by dinner in one of Norfolk Island’s local restaurants.

(BLD)

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Kingston’s settlement and cemetery. More than two centuries old, the oceanfront burial ground is a significant part of Norfolk Island history, with headstone engravings revealing causes of death and hints of the brutality of life during the island’s 19th-century convict compound.

The remainder of the day is at leisure (lunch own arrangements).

Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

(BD)

Today, discover the significant historical sites of Kingston, Cascade Bay and Longridge, learn about local government laws, experience the unique island lifestyle and admire the surrounding scenic landscapes and coastline.

After a picnic lunch, enjoy an in-depth guided walk through the World Heritage-listed settlement of Kingston and Arthur’s Vale, a living showcase of Polynesian, Pitcairn Islander and convict history. Recognised for its picturesque character, Georgian buildings and evocative ruins, the site is a surviving example of large-scale convict transportation and European colonial expansion.

Tonight, enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant.

(BLD)

This morning, discover the ways in which Norfolk Island sustains its inhabitants through industry and agriculture, and visit several passionate local producers using the island’s abundant natural resources to create a range of products, from honey and leather goods to salt harvested from the surrounding sea.

Following lunch, visit Out Yenna, home of best-selling Australian author Colleen McCullough and her Norfolk Islander husband. A luxurious hideaway, the home created a perfect sanctuary for the prolific author to compose up to 30,000 words a day on her electric typewriter.

Tonight, join Glen and fellow travellers to celebrate the conclusion of the tour with a special farewell dinner.

(BLD)

This morning, check out of the hotel and walk to the award-winning Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama, a 360-degree panoramic painting depicting the story of the Bounty mutineers, and gain a visual perspective on this dramatic history. The brainchild of Marie Bailey, a sixth-generation descendant of Fletcher Christian, it is the work of local artists Tracey Yager and Sue Draper.

Enjoy a light lunch before transferring to the airport for the included group flight departing Norfolk Island at 14:20, arriving in Sydney at 16:15.
