This morning, visit the Old Parliament House and enjoy a private, guided tour to discover some of the intriguing untold political stories that took place inside this building.
Then, visit the National Film and Sound Archive as well as the Shine Dome, to appreciate their unique architectural styles.
After lunch, transfer to the National Portrait Gallery to enjoy an introduction to the permanent collection and explore the extensive art displays, featuring portraits across a wide range of mediums.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

After a talk by Helen, visit the National Arboretum and enjoy the panoramic views over Yarralumla and Lake Burley Griffin. Discover the world-class display of miniature trees, created by some of Australia’s leading artists, from the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia.
Later, continue to the National Library to learn about its architectural significance. Designed by Walter Bunning in the ‘Contemporary Classical’ style, the library was opened by Prime Minister John Gorton in August 1968.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Begin the day with a talk by Helen, followed by some time at leisure. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour around the High Court before continuing to the National Gallery of Australia for a private, guided tour of its permanent collection.
Later, enjoy an exclusive, private after-hours viewing of the Gallery’s blockbuster exhibition, Cezanne to Giacometti, indulging in a visual feast of renowned early-modern European artworks. Then, join Helen and fellow tour members for a special farewell dinner at one of Canberra’s fine restaurants.
