Enjoy five performances of fine music featuring, among others, the Australia String Quartet and a diverse cast of international musicians.
This year’s program, developed as part of the Adelaide Festival and curated by the founder and Artistic Director of the award-winning Kronos Quartet, David Harrington, includes works by the masters of classical music, including Mahler, Bach, Satie and Janáček, as well as composers. of our own times.
Between performances, savour meals featuring the finest in locally-sourced, seasonal produce, in a relaxed atmosphere.

This tour is designed to be combined with our Adelaide Festival 2025 tour from 28 February – 06 March 2025 with Mairi Nicolson and Phillip Sametz. Please be advised that places for this tour are very limited. Please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Arrive in Adelaide on suggested Qantas flights. Renaissance Tours or your travel agent can assist you with your flights and other travel arrangements, including a room category upgrade and pre-tour accommodation.
Tour arrangements begin at The Playford Hotel in the Adelaide CBD at 13:00 with a group transfer to the Adelaide Hills (transfer included in tour price if using the group transfer).
At 16:00 attend a welcome briefing and a pre-performance talk by your tour leader, Phillip Sametz, followed by a light early dinner at the hotel.
Then, transfer to the UKARIA Cultural Centre, the purpose-built chamber music concert hall nestled in the tranquil bushland of the Adelaide Hills. Attend the opening performance, entitled Essence, performed by the Australian String Quartet, Affinity Quartet, Trio Da Kali and other guest artists.

Begin the morning with a pre-performance talk by Phillip, followed by some time at leisure.
In the afternoon, transfer to the UKARIA Cultural Centre for a concert entitled Continents, featuring the Australian String Quartet, Affinity Quartet, Garth Knox (viola d’amore) and Lassana Diabaté (balafon).

After the performance, enjoy a short time at leisure at UKARIA, before a late-afternoon concert entitled Trio Da Kali, which showcases the Trio in the music closest to their heart and later joined by the Australian String Quartet in an extraordinary fusion of talent and traditions.
PROGRAM:
A musical celebration with Trio Da Kali and Australian String Quartet
At the conclusion of the performance, enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant before returning to the hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to UKARIA for a concert entitled Sound Worlds, a performance celebrating the joy of sound, by the Australian String Quartet and other artists.

Solos and improvisations with Garth Knox (viola d’amore), Chloe Sobek (violone), Christopher Cartlidge (viola)
Then, enjoy a gourmet lunch at a nearby restaurant. Afterwards, return to UKARIA to attend the closing concert entitled Dream Collectors. Presented from the stage by David Harrington, this collaborative concert culminates in a rhapsodic performance of Terry Riley’s Sunrise of the Planetary Dream Collector.

After the performance, return to the hotel for a farewell drinks reception with Phillip and fellow travellers.
