Damien Beaumont joined the ABC in 1999 after completing music studies in Australia and England. In September 2024, after 25 years behind the microphone, he announced his retirement from ABC Classic.
Over two and a half decades Damien presented virtually every program in the 24-hour radio schedule. His popular programs have seen the release of three CDs, including Damien reading some of Percy Grainger’s personal correspondence, to his music performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Damien presented many of the network’s direct broadcasts from the Sydney Opera House and other concert venues around Australia. He is in demand as a Master of Ceremonies, guest speaker and performing narrator, and has presented concerts and events on ABC TV.
