Anne Maria Nicholson is a journalist and author who has worked for many of Australia’s major media organisations, as well as internationally. For 20 years, Anne Maria was a news and current affairs journalist at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, specialising in the arts for TV News and ABC-24 and also reporting for Foreign Correspondent, Lateline and 730.

Anne Maria has been the recipient of a Getty Fellowship for arts journalism. She is a novelist whose works explore volcanoes and archaeology, including Weeping Waters, set in the World Heritage volcanic plateau in New Zealand where she spent her teenage years, and Pliny’s Warning, set in Pompeii and Naples.
