Matthew Westwood is an experienced journalist of more than 30 years whose writing about cultural events includes the Edinburgh International Festival, the Verbier Festival, the Ring Cycle at Bayreuth and major exhibitions from the Musée d’Orsay, Museo Nacional del Prado and the State Hermitage Museum. Matthew began his career at The Australian in 1990 and was formerly the newspaper’s national arts correspondent, writing about classical music, opera, theatre and exhibitions, as well as arts policy and cultural tourism. Matthew is now philanthropy manager at Musica Viva Australia, the world’s foremost presenter of chamber music. He enjoys bringing people together for good company and the shared excitement of cultural adventure.
