Melanie Pitkin is an Australian Egyptologist and museum curator. She holds a PhD. on the history and chronology of Egypt’s First Intermediate Period from Macquarie University. She currently works as the Senior Curator of the Nicholson Collection of Antiquities and Archaeology at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, University of Sydney and is an Affiliated Researcher at the Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge. Prior to this, Melanie was a curator for more than a decade at Sydney’s Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences. She has worked on several archaeological digs and has travelled extensively throughout Egypt.
