Begin in Christchurch, where institutions such as the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū and striking new architecture, including Shigeru Ban’s celebrated ‘Cardboard Cathedral’, reflect the city’s remarkable cultural renewal.

Travel north to Wellington to explore the outstanding collections of Te Papa Tongarewa, the Museum of New Zealand, and the Dowse Art Museum in nearby Lower Hutt, gaining insight into the country’s art and craft traditions. Continue to Whanganui to visit the Sarjeant Gallery, reopened in late 2024 after a decade of redevelopment.

Conclude in Auckland with a VIP preview of the 2027 Aotearoa Art Fair, where leading galleries present works by artists from New Zealand, Australia and across the Pacific, offering a dynamic overview of the creativity shaping Aotearoa today.

Tour members must be able to:
•    negotiate airports and railway stations without wheelchair assistance
•    use combined shower/bath facilities (it is impossible to guarantee walk-in shower facilities)
•    undertake walking tours of 2-3 hours duration, including using stairs, walking over cobblestones and other uneven surfaces
•    climb staircases of 100 or more steps
•    stand for long periods in museums and other sites
•    embark / disembark coaches, trains and other methods of transportation without assistance
•    handle their own luggage
