In the early afternoon, walk to the Dunstan Playhouse for a performance of The Cherry Orchard. The last play written by the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov, the plot revolves around an aristocratic Russian landowner who returns to her family estate before it is auctioned. Director Simon Stone, the creative force behind last year’s hallmark opera at the Adelaide Festival, Innocence, transforms this classical Russian masterpiece into a fast-paced drama set in modern South Korea.

This evening, attend a new music-theatre production titled Perle Noire, marking the Australian debut of American soprano Julia Bullock.
