(D)

Begin exploring Singapore with a private, guided walking tour of vibrant Little India, a culturally rich neighbourhood bursting with colours and aromas. Stroll the lively streets filled with traditional shops, aromatic spice stalls and vibrant textiles.

Afterwards, embark on a private, guided coach orientation tour passing by Singapore’s iconic green connector belt and enjoying panoramic views of the city.

In the afternoon, visit one of the 1,000 community gardens in Singapore. In addition to growing edible crops, community gardens provide Singaporeans with a platform to bond with their wider community. They have also been instrumental in attracting wildlife to the city area.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon before enjoying dinner at a nearby restaurant.

(BD)

Start the morning with a guided nature walk through Singapore’s Southern Ridges, a 10km stretch of open green spaces in the city which is connected to a network of other parks in the area by a system of bridges and raised walkways.

Later, transfer to the National Gallery of Singapore for lunch at the National Kitchen by Violet Oon. Then, enjoy a private, guided tour of the gallery’s highlights, including the exhibits which feature the world’s largest public collection of Singaporean and Southeast Asian art.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

(BL)

In the morning, discover some of the historical gardens at Fort Canning Park, including the recently redesigned Spice Garden. The garden was once the site of Singapore’s first botanical and experimental garden started by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1822.

After some time at leisure, discover the riches of the Asian Civilisations Museum, an extraordinary museum which interweaves the varied cultures of the Asian continent. Highlights of the collection include Chola bronzes and Gandharan statues from India, Khmer and Javanese temple sculptures and a horde of ceramic, gold and silver recovered from a Tang Dynasty shipwreck.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before attending the sound and light show spectacular at the Gardens by the Bay.

(BD)

Today, visit the city’s historic Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed tropical garden founded in 1859. Its extensive National Orchid Garden contains over 1,000 species, including cultivars dedicated to visiting dignitaries like Queen Elizabeth II, Emperor Akihito of Japan and Diana, Princess of Wales.

After lunch, stop at the Ocean Financial Centre to view the stunning vertical green wall, before continuing to CapitaSpring, a 51-storey skyscraper, home to a mid-air garden oasis spanning across four storeys and featuring 38,000 plants from over 70 species.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

(BL)

This morning, proceed to Gardens by the Bay for an in-depth visit of this unique nature park. Built on 101 hectares of reclaimed land and opened in 2012, Gardens by the Bay is testimony to the garden revolution which Singapore has experienced in recent decades. The centrepieces are two huge, cooled conservatories, each around a hectare in size: the Flower Dome, bursting with specimens from the Mediterranean, South Africa, Australia and South America, and the Cloud Forest, replicating the cool, moist conditions of the mountain forests of Southeast Asia and South America. Outside, an elevated walkway runs through the grove of ‘Supertrees’, a series of 16-storey vertical gardens growing ferns, vines and bromeliads.

After an afternoon at leisure, discover Peranakan (Straits Chinese) culture by visiting The Intan private museum, a treasure trove of Peranakan furniture, costumes and trinkets.

Afterwards, enjoy a farewell dinner with Robin and fellow travellers at a local Peranakan restaurant.
